An extremely nice shave today. The Whipped Dog silvertip again performed quite well. This is one whose performance went south until I cleaned the brush—it must have picked up some oil or some such. But since its cleaning, it’s been great.
I get truly excellent lather, noticeably slick, from Ogallala shave sticks, and the Maggard Razor did an excellent job. I really like this chubby little fellow. The bottom of the handle unscrews so that you can add weights, conceal messages or diamonds, etc.:
Three passes, a good splash of the aftershave, and today I’m making Caldo Verde again. (I made this recipe yesterday and will probably make it again this weekend: it was superb.)
