Washing the brush removed whatever lather-killer it had picked up. I have no idea what it was, but today’s Barrister & Mann lather was pleasant and abundant. I do note the soap requires a little extra water for a good lather.
My Gillette President with an Astra Superior Platinum blade did a very fine job indeed. For me, that’s a very good blade for this razor, almost as good as the Astra Keramik Platinum. Three passes to perfect smoothness. The razor has be plated with rhodium, which makes it a bit more spiffy-looking that the original nickel.
A good splash of Stetson Classic and the day is launched.
